About

The Sycamore Nation is an “On-Line Sports Magazine” founded in admiration of and dedicated to the “Alumni, Educators, Students and Supporters of Indiana State University”.

It is our belief that sports at ISU can generate un-told amounts of goodwill, support and admiration.  Sports information generates FREE publicity in newspapers, radio, television and magazines.  This FREE publicity can create interest in Indiana State as a place students will want to attend; thus the student body numbers grow and the University prospers.

Most of Indiana State’s alums do not live in the Wabash Valley.  Therefore, most of  Indiana State’s alums have “little or no” access to ISU sports.  “Little or no” access to information means “little or no” support … financial or other- wise.  This is not a put down of anyone or anything.  All promotion is good.

We are simply trying a different approach.

So, in short, we here at The Sycamore Nation hope to help grow Indiana State University through the promotion of sports.

Editor’s Notes

This is an endeavor that will change and grow…based upon the needs and wants of our readers and the capabilities of our personnel. All reasonable suggestions are appreciated.

PLEASE read “About Us” as this should answer most questions about The Sycamore Nation.

Suggested stories or persons to be interviewed are welcome. Our stories are NOT meant to be sports stories but human-interest stories about sports, student-athletes, former student-athletes and athletic department persons and supporters of ISU.

Contributions (storied, articles and interviews) are welcome but must be wholly original in content as we strive to honor federal copyright law.

We reserve the right to select and / or reject any and all contributions.

None of The Sycamore Nation staff are or ever have been professional writers, thus we are going to make mistakes…so we hope you take them in stride and just consider mistakes our style. Up close-and personal is what we are looking for in our interviews.

We hope to keep this on-line sports magazine free to any and all to read, to follow the Sycamores and to participate on our message board. Donations to that end would be greatly appreciated.
